So phayal has 2 locations, the Oraginal one upstairs and the new one across the street from the Original one. The new location dose have a full bar vs the original location dose not
No, they don't deliver.
No
They do pick up only.
Great food and friendly (albeit a tad slow) service. An impressive selection of noodle soups. Yum.
I love this place - my fav order is the vegetable/chicken Lhasa Fried Noodles and Aloo Fried Momos. The upstairs is better then the downstairs. They have great portions! The new cashier/server girl is super nice! (I ate and still had this much leftover from lunch)
Outstanding food. Just really tasty top to bottom...great value, attentive service, multicultural hip hop videos playing above a well-stocked bar, etc. Beef momos are top of the mountain.
The new restaurant at down street doing such a worst business. We love coming Phayul for momo’s but today I’ve experience worst customer service & management should be changed.
bad food bad service. bad management.....don't suggest that at all
Always visit Phayul when we come to NY, food is always good. Today we had beef momos which were delicious and I also ordered beef thentuk. The waitress brought it out and said sorry they made chicken thentuk. That was it lol, no making it correct or taking it off the bill. That is Tibetan style so was okay with it, our table laughed about it. No way any regular restaurant would do that and no way I would normally accept it.
What's not to love. Fantastic tripe dish, broth to die for. Excellent
Delicious and spicy. Every dish we tried had totally unique flavors from the next! I’ll be back very soon!
I grew up eating Chinese cuisine that blended flavours from inner Mongolia and mid western China. The sour, spicy, savoury flavours that remind me of those younger times were all captured by the dishes here. Beef dumplings are thicker in the dough wrapper but packs a rich beef and cilantro flavour profile. Sour soup with vermicelli also probably won't be a hit with all - but really showcases some authentic flavours. Well recommended!
Juicy beef momo was the bestI wish they use less msg . Too salty at times.
It was so good! I will be back to try more of the menu. 🤤
Amazing place for authentic Tibetan food. There something magically comforting about their food. And people are great too. Must visit when in Jackson heights.
Really good food, definitely try the beef momo
Momos are some of the best in the area. Beef noodle soup on a cold winter day is exactly what you need.
Delicious thenthuk! The lady told me to get the first soup on the menu. Cash only, but friendly and clean. Look for an open passageway that says "Phayul" to go upstairs😀
Food is delicious. Service is prompt. The place is right at Jackson Heights. One of the best places I have eaten. 4 stars because of MSG or soy sauce which contains MSG used. Makes me thirsty and dry throat everytime I eat here. Otherwise absolute gem.
Excellent prices for authentic Tibetan cuisine! The staff are friendly and the place is clean and has ample space. The location is convenient to the subway/train station.
Best Tibetan food, actually it’s like the best Szechuan food restaurant I ever visited. Really really delicious! The beef tongue, the momo, the noodles and everything are just amazing!!
This place does get a lot of for traffic from locals and it's not that big. Do expect a wait. It's hard to accommodate more then 4 people here. The food is great though and feel very authentic. You can tell from all the locals that come.
I absolutely love the food here especially the potato momos and the manchuria. My favorite place during a cold winter's day or a rainy day. Service is pretty fast and they're efficient with a cozy ambience
Ordered aloo dum and beef chowmein for to go and there was a piece of dish washing thing and when i call them no one there understands english/nepali. The girl on the phone said that they only know tibetan so it was worthless calling them.
This new Tibetan restaurant is amazing. The taste is similar to delicious Schezwan food or Indo-chinese food.
Great hole in the wall spot tucked away on the 2nd floor. If you sit by the windows, great street views below. Fantastic food for a very reasonable price. Kind and quick service. BYOB.
Such yummy food. Get the dumplings and the noodles!!! Delish!
Omg one of the best hidden spots found by my friend. I really-really enjoyed their food. Especially their Vegetable noodles and steamed beef dumplings. It blew my mind. Definitely going back again soon.
Today on May-5-2019 around 9:15pm me and my girlfriend were hungry and thought to eat here because we like the food here. But as soon as we walked in the restaurant there was a ugly looking girl I believe she is a waitress she was so rude and unwelcoming. My girl asked her can we sit here but she didn’t really care to response . Not smiling And so arrogant . We try to give them business but just because of her attitude and unwelcoming attitude we had to walk away . We didn’t eat there . We have no problem with the restaurant and there food. She need to change her attitude and be more professional at work. She get paid to serve the customer not to show her ugly looking face with attitude.
East or west, phayul is the best, best Tibetan food in this state👍👍
Every bit of our meal was absolutely delicious. Super fresh and fast, even though the place was packed. Friendly service, too.One thing: the front door wouldn't stay closed, so we were cold the whole time. I hope they can fix this. What a great little restaurant!
DATE NIGHT FAVORITE. PERIOD.
Ordered for take out and all beef momo are undercooked. I can feel the flour sticking on my finger like a gum. I had to throw away all my momo(dumplings) such a waste of money. So disappointed. Please take time to cook food Probably. For me, this will be my last order from that restaurant. This review is on new Phayul restaurant.
I would never miss this place while in New York!!!
If you are in Jackson Hight. You must come to this Momo spot. The beef momo is super moist, juicy and flavorful. The momo just melts in your mouth. They are made as you order. Everything here is a big portion. They usually have 10 to 15 min wait. The place inside small. It's located on the second floor.
I like their Fried beef momo, and chicken soup. Service was nice and fast.
Best Tibetan restaurant in Nyc. Especially beef momo is best.
food and service are nice nothing to complain, but DON'T LEAVE TIPS cuz the waiter doesn't get tips, the owner keep all the tips. You cant even tips personally to the waiter.
Chicken chowmein is very delicious, Gyuma sausage is good too. Momo and fried rice are ok. New Tibetan and Nepali restaurant open in Jackson Heights.
I had the gyuma and beef thenthuk.Best gyuma I've had thus far. I also enjoyed the beef thenthuk, taste great and it was light, just perfect for the appetite I had.Looks shady but honestly, the shadier a place looks, the better the food. You have to walk upstairs to the second floor, tiny place. Service was good, she answered my questions and offered recommendations, nice lady.FYI, place is cash only.
It’s a very good restaurant but it depends on what days you go and at what time. So what I’m saying is that if it was Thursday today and they had good food, it might not be the same on Friday and the same time. So pay attention and remember the face of the chef on the day that they make good food.
Good environment,food ok
Great food. Authentic taste
The momos were ok but the radish soup was amazing. Good service. The place is somewhat hidden. With the table by the window, you can have a view of the busy streets. Overall, it’s a great restaurant.
Really good , authentic Tibetan food.Momos, soups are a treat . Usually crowded but worthwhile to wait.
Best restaurant in Jackson Heights, New York,,, even though sitting is limited but food is awesome n worth paying it.. beef momo is best , I hope momo size will not get smaller later on..
Fresh and delicious food, and nice seating compared to lots of others places around.
Tied for best restaurant in NYC. The other best is the original Phayul.
I had my hopes up high with this place but it was a great disappointment. I went there with my boyfriend( we’re an interracial couple, he’s black and I’m Asian) we were pointed to go sit on the table that wasn’t even clean and still had plates. And then we waited about 15 mins and no one even bothered to attend the table. My boyfriend even waived at the owner or whoever it was like twice. He saw him but completely ignored. We felt like we were denied service maybe because we weren’t some Mongolian looking customers. It’s crazy just to see people giving up on income or business just because they prioritize their racist behavior. It wasn’t even busy, the guy was just ignorant and racist. I’d recommend not to waste your hard earned money to a place like this. Racism is never acceptable, Period! P.S. we need a no star rating option.
Authentic, tasty, hidden - all the attributes I love in restaurants!
Amazing food but sub-par service. Wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a romantic place for a date. However, the food is amazing.
Looks scary from the outside, walk straight up the stairs from the street, and even scarier when you walk in. Dirty tables, terrible service, very small. However .... the food is actually flavorful. Try to resist the temptation of peaking into the open kitchen. It's not pretty. The Tibetan sausage was interesting, black, minced and deep fried. Tasty. We ordered 2 soups. First was a chicken based dumpling soup. Dumplings were homemade and delicious and broth was full body chicken broth with fresh spinach. Suprisingly good. The other soup was a cloudy broth with coriander seeds and a bunch of dried spices which also yielded quite a tasty broth even though the bones had little meat. The noodle dish was like a lo mein, but again the flavor was really good. Believe it or not, if this was in my neighborhood, I would go back.
Great thali place the other items were not so great but have any of their thali’s and you will not be disappointed.
